Water Filter Cartridges

Water Filter Cartridges are principally utilized for effective dechlorination of drinking Mioroscope water at the point of use (your drinking tap), thereby retaining the benefits of the Chlorine as a disinfectant in the supply pipes to the premises and then very effectively removing it just before it is drunk, removing the bad taste and odour connected with Chlorine in the water, giving a sweeter better tasting drink and removing the health issues associated with Chlorinated water.

The Micron rating of a Filter Cartridge and the quality of the Carbon determines the quality of the water.

Many manufacturers of Filter systems use low capacity, loose filled Activated Bituminous Carbon with a rating of 20 microns. These are fine if you only require smaller quantities of filtered water and are happy just with an improvement of taste and odour, but this type of cartridge are prone to channelling, where the water passes through the bed in the least line of resistance thereby missing much of its filtering capacity.
They are also at risk of running out of capacity before their scheduled change, normally at six monthly intervals.

All drinking water filter cartridges should be changed every six months irrespective of how much water has been filtered, to prevent any unhealthy build up of bacteria or other contamination, this way you can be sure of a healthy and continuous supply of crystal clear filtered water.
